Time For a Workday Detox

Agency life isn’t all about brainstorming “punny” taglines and devising viral advertising campaigns with creative coworkers – it can be stressful! We work long hours to meet tight deadlines, interact with a myriad of personalities on a daily basis, and juggle multiple projects with a seemingly endless number of moving parts. It can take more than a couple of deep breaths to keep a mind sharp in this fast-paced environment. Here are a few actions that we encourage at Studio Brand Collective to set our team up for success.

Trade your morning coffee for Unicorn Fuel

What is Unicorn Fuel, you ask? It’s a super-charged twist on your typical cup of joe that chalk full of brain-boosting healthy fats, a metabolism-enhancing blend of spices and antioxidants that will kick your system into high gear. Integrate this majestic beverage into your daily routine and reap the benefits of a high octane brain.

2 cups brewed hot coffee

1 tablespoon coconut oil

1 tablespoon grass-fed butter

1/2 teaspoon maca

1/2 teaspoon cacao powder

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon turmeric

1 pinch cayenne pepper

Pour coffee into a blender. Add fats and dry ingredients. Blend until frothy. Cheers to a successful and productive day!

Get Moving

Even though it seems like we are running a mile a minute, we tend to conduct business from our swivel chairs. Staying sedentary not only stifles creativity, it also increases stress levels that can be detrimental to your overall health. Federal health officials recommend at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day, so get those endorphins flowing with early morning yoga or sweat the day away with a high intensity cardio class after hours. If those options aren’t available to you, integrate some activity into your workday – take a stroll around the office, grab a snack, or meet a coworker at the water cooler. This will help reset your focus, stimulate your senses, and give you fresh eyes for whatever projects you have on you plate.

No Meeting Mondays

One of the pillars of agency life is organization. If you don’t take the time to tend to your in-house responsibilities, your workload can easily spiral out of control – leaving you scrambling to meet deadlines. Instituting “No Meeting Mondays” allows you to take a look at your to-do list and schedule your week accordingly without the interruption of staff or client meetings. Bring a pair of headphones and listen to music that motivates you while answering emails, updating deliverable schedules, and delegating tasks. Taking the time to look ahead will increase your productivity and give you the peace of mind that nothing is falling through the cracks

Working for an agency is as demanding as it is rewarding, so make sure to put a routine in place that allows you to produce the best work possible.
