Holiday Marketing Tips

Black Friday is behind us, and you know what that means: the holiday season is in full swing! While this short stretch of time between Thanksgiving and the New Year is focused on family and being merry, it’s also the biggest shopping and spending time of the year. Walk into any store, restaurant or place of business and you’ll likely see holiday decorations and hear seasonal tunes designed to foster that festive feeling. Turn on your TV, and you’ll see one holiday-related commercial after the other.

As a business, it can be hard to stand out from the competition with all the ramped up marketing and advertising activity. Although it’s ideal to have your holiday campaign efforts ready to go well before the brink of the holidays, you can still do things to boost your presence. Check out our helpful tips below to find out how to let your business’ marketing efforts shine during the holidays.

Turn Your Product or /Service Into the "Perfect Gift"

Nobody goes gift shopping to buy their friends and family a gift they won’t love. During the holiday shopping season, everyone is on the hunt for that perfect present that will show those most important to them just how much they are valued. This leaves your business with the opportunity to provide that “perfect gift.” Take the audience you generally target, and market to those who might be shopping for that audience. Emphasize why their gift recipient fits in perfectly with your target audience.

Do you own a service based business rather than a product based one? Not a problem, gift cards can make for great holiday gifts too!

Increase Exposure with Promotions or Giveaways

During the holiday season, everyone ramps up their spending significantly. There are gifts to buy, parties to throw, and family to host. Why not drive some of that revenue your way by creating an incentive for people to spend money at your establishment! Creating promotions, discounts or holiday-themed giveaways can be great ways to not only get people in your door, but also to create a positive feeling about your brand. Customers will appreciate that you’ve given their wallet a little break.

Show Your Customers and Clients you Care!

Holiday marketing is not only about what you can do to maximize spending in your establishment, but it’s also a great opportunity to show your existing customers or clientele that you appreciate their continued support. If you run a small enough business, there’s no better way to show how much you value your existing patrons than mailing a personalized card. Really going above and beyond to include an individual message can do so much to boost the perception people have of your company, and you can expect to see the payoff for months to come. That being said, don’t underestimate the power of a mailer or holiday email to your customer base. Keeping up a positive impression of your company is crucial, as well as just keeping a presence amongst the bustle of the holiday season.

Happy holidays from all of us at SBC, and here’s to your successful marketing in the coming new year!
